Nick Cannon is a father to 12 kids (and has a 13th on the way), and the amount of child support he pays is shocking.

Last month, The Sun reported that the television personality pays $3 million in annual child support.

“When you have somebody like Nick Cannon, who's an extremely high-income earner, the courts in California have the right to deviate from the typical child support guidelines,” attorney and legal expert Goldie Schon said.

Following the report, Nick opened up during an appearance on The Neighbourhood Talk podcast and says he actually spends more between all of his children.

“I definitely spend a lot more than [$3 million] on my children annually,” he said. “I don’t plan to ever have to participate in the governmental system of child.”

Nick’s comments come shortly after DJ Abby De La Rosa gave birth to his 12th child. He announced the child’s name on Instagram, Zeppelin Cannon. Nick and Abby already have 1-year-old twins, Zion and Zillion.

The comedian share his oldest children, twins Moroccan and Monroe (born in 2011), with his ex-wife Mariah Carey.

He also has three children with Brittany Bell – sons Golden (born in 2017) and Rise (born in 2022), and daughter Golden (born in 2020). Moreover, Nick welcomed a son, Legendary, with Brie Tiesi in July, and a daughter, Onyx, in September with LaNisha Cole.

Alyssa Scott is currently pregnant with their second child. Their infant son, Zen, passed away in 2021.

Nick has defended his untraditional family and avoided questions about if and when he plans to stop having children.

"I've seen where people believe a traditional household works, and [yet] there's a lot of toxicity in that setting," he told Men’s Health earlier this year. "It's not about what society deems is right. It's like, what makes it right for you? What brings your happiness? What allows you to have joy and how you define family?”

He added, “We all define family in so many different ways."

Nick has admitted to paying millions in child support per year, but that’s not the only expense he’s footing for his children. He hasn’t been shy to buy the mothers’ of his children all that they may need, including homes.

In September, Nick made headlines for buying Abby a million-dollar house only months ahead of the birth of their third child.

“It’s the least I can do, Thank you for the unconditional love and the most precious gifts any human can ask for!! BEAUTIFUL New Beginnings!” he wrote on social media of the purchase.
